A one-line description of the project
The Smartpur Project, initially launched by Nokia in partnership with the Digital Empowerment Foundation, has now expanded its impact through collaboration with REACHA NGO. This initiative is dedicated to transforming rural villages into digitally integrated ecosystems by providing essential services across five key pillars:
Education – Digital learning programs, skill development courses, and access to online resources.
Healthcare – Telemedicine services, health awareness programs, and digital health records.
Livelihood – Skill training, employment opportunities, and digital financial literacy.
Governance – Easy access to government schemes, digital documentation support, and e-governance services.
Financial Inclusion – Digital banking, UPI transactions, and financial literacy programs.
In Samba, Jammu & Kashmir, the Smartpur Project, now strengthened by REACHA NGO, is actively working to bridge the digital divide by empowering rural communities with technology-driven solutions. This partnership ensures better implementation of digital services, skill training programs, and livelihood opportunities, creating self-sufficient villages.
The project follows a hub-and-spoke model, where a central hub village supports multiple spoke villages, ensuring digital access and sustainability across the region. By integrating digital technology into daily lives, the initiative is fostering inclusive growth, enhancing rural livelihoods, and promoting digital empowerment.
With REACHA’s on-ground experience and Smartpur’s digital innovation, this initiative is making a significant impact in improving the quality of life for the people of Samba and beyond.
